In 2010 over a couple beers at the Hamilton Cock & Bull they had a vision of seeing the carpark full classic cars\, recreating the “American Graffiti” theme After attending a Classic Car meet at Belligios in Auckland\, the vision of creating a similar event in Hamilton became clear. The Cock & Bull was perfect with plenty of parking and an indoor outdoor setting.The Cock & Bull management loved the idea and suggested they offer a few extra incentives. Then\, Archie (who is the pied piper of cars) suggested we start spreading the word and between us\, the word spread fast. With Owen on board (the instigator of the Friday night Hamilton Cruises)\, we now have a team passionate about classics cars.Our first event in September was unbelievable. Over 80 cars turned up\, a huge range of people and cars; Old Vintage\, Classic Morris Minors\, Mustangs\, Hotrods and Extreme Muscle Cars.This Event is about People\, passion… and then the Cars. So you are all welcome\, car working or stil needing work\, or even just to look around and meet the people. This will be a monthly\, year round event and down the track we hope to involve special needs groups to come along and enjoy the fun.

DESCRIPTION:Meremere Competition\nMeeting 1\nThis is the first meeting in the Meremere Dragway Competition Series for 2019/2020 season.   \nAll racers at this event will earn 1.5 points towards the Season Points Score Series. \nAs part of the Meremere Dragway Competition Series all competition vehicles are welcome to race in the following classes; Top Comp\, Pro Comp\, Super Comp\, Competition\, Competition Bike\, Super Sedan\, Mod Bike\, Super Street (incl Teen Championship Racing)\, Screamin’ Eagles and Junior Dragsters.  (Street legal cars can race only in Super Street and street legal motorbikes can only race in either Modified Bike or Screamin’ Eagle).   \nFor Top Comp\, Pro Comp\, Super Comp and Comp – all vehicles 9.99 and quicker must qualify together in class.  At the conclusion of qualifying\, racers will be split into groups of Top 8 in Top Comp\, second 8 in Pro Comp and so on.  All Comp classes will run DYO.   \nCompetition Bike\, Super Sedan\, Modified Bike\, Super Street\, Screamin’ Eagle and Junior Dragster will run as normal. \nRace Entry (covers entry for both Saturday & Sunday): \nCompetition Classes = $220 ($190 with IHRA NZ membership)\nComp Bike & Super Sedan = $200 ($170 with IHRA NZ membership)\nScreamin’ Eagles\, Super Street and Modified Bike = $155 ($125 with IHRA NZ membership)\nJunior Dragster and Teen Racers = $30 (FREE with IHRA NZ membership) \nRace Entry for running one day only (either Saturday OR Sunday): \nCompetition Classes = $160 ($140 with IHRA NZ membership)\nComp Bike & Super Sedan = $140 ($120 with IHRA NZ membership)\nScreamin’ Eagles\, Super Street and Modified Bike = $95 ($75 with IHRA NZ membership)\nJunior Dragster and Teen Racers = $20 (FREE with IHRA NZ membership) \nGate Entry Saturday = $10\nGate Entry Sunday = $25\nKids under 12 FREE  \nRacers – please have your civil drivers’ license\, drag racing license\, log book and IHRA NZ membership card (if applicable) with you when you come to Race Entry.  \nGROUP 1 & GROUP 2 RACERS: Please ensure your vehicle has been weighed and that this weight is recorded in the relevant section of your log book before coming to Race Entry. \nCamping is available at track for racers and crew only.  Please camp in the allocated camping area. The bush setting has Lockwood style dormitories and ablution blocks. No pets allowed in the area. Children could bring a torch and warm clothing to go for a night walk to see glow worms. \nThe Dormitories are divided into blocks of four bunks. Mattresses are provided but all other linen is necessary including pillows/sleeping bags. Warm bedding will be needed if the weather is cold. Separate toilet\, shower and changing blocks are close by. \n\n\n\n\nBring your own caravan or tent (No power to the sites)\nIf you require a caravan\nPh Ace Caravans\, Cliff & Tina 07 343 7570 \nAll meals will be catered for while at the camp. DESCRIPTION:Meremere Dragway presents\nNight Speed Drag Wars\nThe Meremere Dragway Night Speed Drag Wars Series is back for the 2019/2020 Drag Racing season and the first one promises to be big with our Guy Fawkes fire display and some tough racing with race entry cut off at 250 or 830pm (whichever comes first) \nRun what ya brung!  Remember these events are for Street Legal vehicles only so your vehicle needs to be WOFd and REGO’d.  You must have a helmet and a minimum Restricted License for a car driver and if you’re a biker\, you can race on a Learner License as long as your bike is on the LAMS approved motorbike list (just like the road rules).  Ensure your battery is securely fastened/tied down and if you have a rotary vehicle that you have a scatter blanket/shield. Lastly\, in all classes except King of the Street\, you can run D.O.T approved street legal drag tyres only but any other race slick is strictly prohibited \nKing of the Street only class to run full slicks – click Drag Wars Rules to see updates in yellow
